Thursday, June 6, 2013 - 1:02pm

Game one of the 2013 NBA Finals will be played Thursday night in Miami.

One of the most anticipated Finals in recent history, places the veteran San Antonio Spurs against the younger Miami Heat.

The Spurs, led by veteran power forward, Tim Duncan, point guard, Tony Parker, and shooting guard, Manu Ginobili, averaged 103 points per game in the regular season, while holding their opponents to a 96-point average.

The Heat, powered by forward, Lebron James, guard, Dwayne Wade, and forward, Chris Bosh, put up an average of 97.2 points per game and held the opposing teams to 87.6.

San Antonio is looking to finally attach the "dynasty" label to their franchise as they seek to claim their fifth title since 1999. The Spurs have appeared in four NBA finals since 1999 and have won the Larry O'Brien trophy every time.

Miami has competed in the past two NBA finals and will be making its third consecutive appearnce tonight. The Heat dropped a crucial game six to the Dallas Mavericks in 2011, allowing Dirk and company to grab their first NBA title. The Heat rebounded from their devastating 2012 series finale to take down Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder in five games bringing a second NBA title back to South Beach.

Game one tips off at 8:00 p.m., and is sure to be the start of a series to remember.
