Nacogdoches set to vote on contractor for water issues

Nacogdoches, TX — The construction company to drill the first of several new wells for the city of Nacogdoches and help with future water issues, is up for approval during Tuesday’s council meeting.
At the 5:30 p.m. meeting in City Hall, council members will discuss approving Weisinger, Inc., the low bidder for the construction of Well 13 at the Southwest Pump Station on FM 225, as the construction company for the project. Weisinger was the low bid at $684,400 with Russell Drilling Co., Inc. coming in at $772,000.

The project includes drilling a test well, hydraulic analysis of the water bearing strata and the installation of a permanent well, pump and motor. Site piping and chlorination facilities will be taken care of through a separate contractor.
