NACOGDOCHES — A motorcycle accident in Nacogdoches early Sunday morning claimed the life of Morgan Sheppard, a Nacogdoches County sheriff's deputy.

26-year-old Sheppard was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University.

Police say Sheppard was riding his motorcycle on North Street when he hit a car pulling of a driveway. He later died at a local hospital.

No charges have been filed at this time, but the case remains under investigation.
