Mowing season bring increase in lawn equipment thefts

Monday, April 16, 2012 - 3:51pm

NACOGDOCHES — Mowing season is here and Nacogdoches Crime Stoppers report that lawn equipment thefts are on the rise.
Over the past few weeks, Nacogdoches Police have received numerous reports on the thefts of lawn mowers, grass trimmers and blowers. Most of these items have been left unsecured in a yard or carport.
Officials urge people to secure their equipment by placing it in a garage so that thieves do not have the opportunity to steal it.
If you have any information on these types of crimes, call Nacogdoches Crime Stoppers at 560-INFO. All calls are confidential and you never have to give your name. You can send them a tip on the web at www.ncstips.com or on their Facebook page. If the information you give results in an arrest of grand jury indictment,  you could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.
