Tyler, Texas (FOX51) — Major League Baseball announced Tuesday, they would be suspending and fining Boston Red Sox pitcher, Ryan Dempster, for intentionally throwing at and hitting New York Yankees third baseman, Alex Rodriguez.
Dempster, a starter for Boston, will be suspended for five games after he intentionally threw one pitch behind A-Rod's knees on Sunday night at Fenway Park in Boston.
He continued to attempt to beam Rodriguez by throwing two more pitches before hitting A-Rod in the back on the fourth pitch.
Depmster was not ejected from the game, however, Yankees manager, Joe Girardi, was thrown out and fined an undisclosed amount for arguing with home plate umpire, Brian O'Nora.
When asked if Dempster should be suspended, A-Rod comically answered, "I'm the wrong person to be asking about suspensions."
