Millions of "boomers" plan for retirement
What does this mean for Social Security benefits?
TYLER - As the nation's first round of baby boomers turn 65 this year... millions will be retiring. That means a lot of people will go from paying taxes to getting benefits.
There's almost 40,000 people in Smith County drawing Social Security, that's about $41 million a month in checks.
Leo Rossler with the Social Security Administration in Tyler says that number will continue to grow.
But critics ask just who will pay for it.
