TYLER - The Meadow Lake Senior Living Community sits on 92 acres of land in Tyler.
Executive Director Robin Baschnagel says East Texans 55 and older can live in a resort-style facility with either independent or assisted living.
"There's no more paying for appliance repair or painting, or property taxes or house keeping, laundry, maintenance, changing light bulbs, all those things are taken care of on-site by our property management," Baschnagel said.
With amenities like an on-site convenience store, ice cream parlors, a theater, library, post office and bank all on the Meadow Lake grounds, the project has provided many East Texans with work. Including 120 employees on the campus.
"So we're providing over 300 construction jobs just in the last 2 years and that'll continue for another year and a half. Mostly local construction jobs with subcontracters and local builders," Baschnagel said.
He says they're not done yet. A fitness center and an additional 76 executive homes are coming in the near future.
