Massive brush fire burning near Ft. Hood

FORT HOOD, Texas — The Fort Hood Directorate of Emergency Services reported at around 3 p.m. a brush fire burning near the Lone Star Multiuse Range in the northern area of Fort Hood.

About 100 acres are burning. Emergency crews are on the scene and the incident commmader has requested a helicopter with water-drop capablities, which should be on the scene at around 5 p.m.

No facilities or structures are threatened at this time. More details will be released when they become available.
