A man is in serious but stable condition this morning after being shot in the chest early this morning near UT Tyler.
Around 2:30 this morning at the corner of University Boulevard and Patriot Drive the man was shot.
The local hospital told Tyler Police that according to witnesses with the patient, the shooing happened when they were at an intersection.
Police say bullet holes are in the car and shell cases were found at the location of the shooting.
An email sent to UT students says that the vehicles involved were a white Chevy impala and a gray SUV, possible a Tahoe.
The email also says some of the shell casings appear to come from an assault rifle. Police say anyone with any information are to call them.
