Man found dead in Harrison County cemetery identified; Officials investigating as homocide

HARRISON COUNTY — On Friday at around 5:38 p.m., Harrison County dispatchers received a call from a person saying that a body, possibly of a dead person, had been found in the area of St. James Cemetery. This cemetery is located off of Macedonia Rd. in the Harleton area of Harrison County.

Deputies were sent to the location and met with the person who then directed deputies to the cemetery on CR 4120. Deputies found the body of a black man with extensive lacerations to the torso. The person was dead and determined to be the body of  Kenneth Dale Dillard, Jr., 22 of Marshall, Texas. JP Westy Meisenheimer pronounced the death and the body was released to a local funeral home.

Law enforcement continues to investigate the death as a homicide.
