Lufkin teen receives 20-year sentence for sex crimes against children

Lufkin, Texas —
Chaos reportedly broke out in Angelina County courtroom Wednesday as a Lufkin teen was sentenced to 18 years in prison.

Joseph Weeks, 19, appeared before state District Judge Barry Bryan Wednesday morning, facing up to 20 years in prison for sex crimes against children after his probation was revoked in January for drinking alcohol, associating with known felons and viewing pornography.

With his sentence handed down, there was an outburst by Weeks’ mother and another family member who began cursing, according to prosecutor Art Bauereiss.
