Lufkin, Texas —
A Lufkin man was arrested Sunday after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman at knife point.

Richard Lira, 21, allegedly held a knife on a 20-year-old woman while forcing her to perform oral sex on him, according to an arrest affidavit. She managed to get away from him, but not before he hit her in the face several times with his fist, the affidavit stated. He reportedly stopped hitting her when she started bleeding. She then talked him into letting her leave and went to a friend’s home to call police. The woman had a cut on her forehead and blood on her lips from him allegedly hitting her in the face. Police photographed her injuries.

With the evidence, Lufkin Police were able to arrest Lira. In questioning, he initially denied the assault, but later said she did perform oral sex on him while he was holding a knife, according to the affidavit. He told police he pushed her and she hit her head when she was trying to leave the house.

Further detail in the case is not being released to protect the woman’s identity.
