Lufkin authorities search for burglar driving pink Dodge Challenger
Lufkin — Crime Stoppers of Lufkin is asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect in a vehicle burglary investigation.
On March 31, 2012, Lufkin Police Department officers responded to a vehicle burglary call at a restaurant located in the 1900 block of South First Street in Lufkin. Just after 10:00 pm, a restaurant employee saw on the restaurant's security video monitor that a black male was tampering with a vehicle parked at the rear of the building. By the time the employee realized what was happening, the suspect had entered the vehicle, a white 2004 Dodge Ram, searched it for valuables, and stole a TomTom brand GPS receiver and a brown Wrangler purse.
The suspect fled the area by vehicle before employees could react and, although they searched the area, responding officers were did not locate the suspect or the suspect's vehicle.
The restaurant's security video shows that the suspect is a black male who wore a white, v-neck t-shirt, 3/4-length sweat pants, a blue baseball cap, a metallic wristwatch, and a Bluetooth earpiece. The suspect drove a pink or light purple, newer model Dodge Challenger, which is a two-door vehicle.
