Longview woman's purse stolen after attack

On Monday at approximately 6:43 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 Block of Lake Lamond Road for an aggravated robbery. Upon arrival, officers learned 57-year-old Ruth Miller of Longview had been attacked by an unknown assailant as she went to her vehicle. The woman had been hit on the head by some type of stick, later determined to be a small tree limb. The unidentified suspect was described as a black male, wearing all black, approximately 5' 5" and thin build. After hitting MIller, the suspect took the her purse and ran from the scene.

The victim sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
