Longview holiday closings
City of Longview offices will be closed Friday, December 24, and Monday, December 27, in observance of Christmas. All city offices will resume regular business hours Tuesday, December 28. City offices will also be closed Monday, January 3, in observance of New Year’s Day and will resume normal business hours Tuesday, January 4.
The Sanitation Division will not pick up trash on Thursday, December 23, or Friday, December 24. The Compost Site will be closed Friday, December 24, Saturday, December 25, and Saturday, January 1. Due to large trash collection amounts after the Christmas holiday, citizens are asked to please not set yard waste curbside until their next scheduled collection in 2011.
The Longview Public Library will be closed Friday, December 24, through Monday, December 27. The book drops will be closed as well. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, December 28. The Library will also be closed Monday, January 3.
Broughton Recreation Center, Green Street Recreation Center, Paula Martin Jones Recreation Center, and all other park buildings will be closed Friday, December 24, through Monday December 27. Park buildings will also be closed Monday, January 3.
Longview Transit, the public bus transportation system, will not operate on Saturday, December 25, or Saturday, January 1. Regular bus service on Friday, December 31 will end at 3:15 p.m. However, Longview Transit will offer a Safe-Ride-Home service on New Year’s Eve, December 31, from 8:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. which can be scheduled by calling 903-753-2287.
