Longview gunman pistol-whips passenger at fast-food drive-thru

Longview,TX — An East Texas man was taken to a local hospital after he was pistol-whipped at a fast-food drive-thru.

It happened at around 9:30 p.m. Sunday at the Longview Jack-in-the-Box on Estes Parkway.

Longview police tell KETK two men were sitting in a vehicle when they were approached by an armed man. The gunman then attacked the passenger of the vehicle--- pistol-whipping him. The driver then pulled forward, got out of the car and started fighting with the gunman until he left the scene.

The passenger was taken to a local hospital for treatment and released.

Authorities say the robber was not able to get away with any money. A description of the gunman is not available at this time.
