Chris Green files for Smith County Sheriff

TYLER -- Today, Republican Chris Green will filed an application for a place on the Republican Party General Primary Ballot for Smith County Sheriff. Green recently retired as Game Warden and has served as a state peace officer for 20 years.

Hiway 80 Rescue Mission seeks toy donations to help needy children

Longview, TX — Already the mission has received a record number of applications. Last year we served 350 families, and handed out 3000 gifts to low-income children. This year we have requests to help just as many if not more.

SMITH COUNTY — Firefighters were able to contain the fire, but not before the mobile home was destroyed. The fire was caused by a space heater.

TYLER — The Tyler Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 2410 Old Omen road. The initial caller said there was smoke coming from the house and was received at 09:30 a.m.
