Anderson Co. issues 90-day burn ban

East Texas counties have been implementing burn bans as a result of the drought looming over the state of Texas. As of Monday, August 12, 2013, at 12:00 p.m., Anderson County has also issued a 90-day burn ban.

ETX fireman arrested for assaulting girlfriend, preventing her from calling for help

According to Gladewater Police Chief Farrell Alexander, a lieutenant with the Gladewater Fire Department was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend and tried to prevent her from calling authorities for help.
