29 DWI arrests made in Smith County during Memorial Day weekend

The following is an after-action report from our most recent multi-agency No-Refusal DWI campaign May 27th through May 29th, 2011: Total DWI arrests for the No-Refusal initiative for all agencies were 29.

Tyler Police investigate major traffic accident

Tyler — On 05-30-2011 at 8:55 pm, Tyler Police Officers were dispatched to 1500 E. Commerce Street in reference to a major traffic accident.

UPDATE: Tatum stabbing victim remains in hospital, suspect's name released

On Sunday, May 29, 2011, Justice of the Peace, Precinct 5, Judge Joe Sorrells, charged suspect, Joseph Deem, 19, of Tatum, with Aggravated Assault, for the stabbing which occurred approximately 3:30am on Saturday, May 28, 2011.

Longview road closures

Longview, TX — A temporary closure of the northeast bound lane of Dundee Road between Helane Lane and Cook Lane is scheduled to begin at approximately Noon, Wednesday, June 1.

Tyler police arrest injured burglar

Tyler, TX — On 05-29-2011, shortly after 7:00 p.m., Tyler Police Officers on routine patrol heard a burglar alarm in the area of North Broadway Avenue and Queen Street.

Tyler Dollar General store robbed at gunpoint

On 05-30-2011 at 5:15 p.m., Tyler Police Officers were dispatched to 4031 S. Broadway (Dollar General Store) in reference to an aggravated robbery. It was reported that a black male entered the store and began walking around.

Flipped boat jamming traffic on I-20

HARRISON COUNTY — A KFXK crew reports miles of cars are backed up on I-20 east of Hallsville. The traffic jam was caused by a truck towing a boat, which flipped over near mile marker 606.
