LISD Foundation to honor top 10 graduates, influential teachers

Friday, May 4, 2012 - 2:54pm

Lindale ISD’s top students and some of the district’s most dedicated educators will have a special night to shine, joined by their family, friends, school administrators and community leaders.
The Lindale ISD Education Foundation will host the fourth annual Academic Excellence Recognition Banquet on Monday, May 21 at 6:00 p.m. at the Hide-A-Way Lake Clubhouse. The banquet, themed “Celebrating Our Stars,” will recognize the top ten graduating seniors of the class of 2012 and the extraordinary teachers who influenced them.
The top ten students will be honored as Distinguished Scholars. Each student selected one teacher they felt had made the biggest and most positive impact in their educational careers to be recognized with them as a Distinguished Educator. This year, eleven students and eleven educators will be honored. Two students shared the exact same cumulative grade point average for the tenth position.
“This prestigious event is truly a marquee night for the Lindale ISD and the Lindale ISD Education Foundation,” LISD Superintendent Stan Surratt said. “To graduate at the top of your class is quite an honor and the foundation has made great efforts to make this achievement even more special for the students. The teachers are also honored for their influence, also another wonderful aspect of this event. We are so very proud of them all. ”
