The Longview Police Department Explorer Post 201 is accepting new members and will be having a meeting Monday September 27, 2010 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Longview Police Department at 302 West Cotton Street.

Through law enforcement exploring, young men and women 14-20 years old are able to learn about law enforcement as a career and learn hands-on skills. Explorer scouts are able to learn about crime scene investigations, traffic stop techniques, arrest procedures, auto crash investigations and go on officer ride-alongs. Explorers also compete in Explorer events and competitions.
