Judge declares mistrial in FRESH kidnapping case
tyler, tx — A mistrial has been declared in the case of an alleged attempted kidnapping that took place in Tyler.
The incident happened back on January 26 around 4:22 p.m. at the Brookshire's-owned FRESH parking lot, located on the 6900 block of Old Jacksonville Highway.
The woman told police a gunman, later identified as 34-year-old William Easley, of Flint, tried to force her back into her vehicle. After screaming for help, two customers came running to her aid. Easley ran from the victim’s vehicle and jumped into a car, speeding away.
The next day, authorities caught the accused kidnapper at his house.
Easley is charged with attempted kidnapping and faces up to 10 years in prison.
No details have been released as to why Judge Christie Kennedy declared a mistrial.
