Jacksonville teacher resigns after inappropriate pictures were put online
JACKSONVILLE-- 25-year-old Krystal Looney taught at Jacksonville High School up until inappropriate pictures of her surfaced on the internet during the Christmas break.
An anonymous caller tells us Autumn Green, who says she was kicked off a cheerleading squad coached by Looney, posted the pictures online.
We spoke with Green, who says she put the pictures of Looney on her facebook wall. Green tells us she did not realize Looney would lose her job.
"It was spur of the moment. I realize it was petty, and I feel really, really bad about that. It's horrible that she lost her job, and I feel horrible," says Green. She says she got the pictures from Looney's ex-boyfriend.
Looney did not want to comment, but other sources confirm the pictures were taken off and Looney resigned.
Superintendent Joe Wardell says, "All I can tell you is that we did have a teacher resign over Christmas break. We're very limited by law as to what information we can give out about any kind of personnel issue."
Jacksonville's employee standards of conduct says: "Employees shall be held to the same professional standards in their public use of electronic media as they are for any other public conduct."
Still, some say it's not Looney's fault the pictures were made public.
