Jacksonville Police targets gambling machines
Tyler, TX (KFXK) — The Jacksonville Police sent a notice through the Chamber of Commerce ordering a local store to shut down sweepstakes machines and remove them from their building.
"The problem with the sweepstakes machines is, as for reaching, it goes way up above the local vendors, the local merchants and the local people, who are actually trying to raise money for legitimate fundraising, legitimate benefits." said Sergeant Jason Price. "What we're doing, we're teaming up. We're coordinating with other task forces throughout the state who are working on it. We're a small part of an ongoing investigation."
The machines are not the property of the store owner. The owners of the machines will not be able to pick them up until next week.
