Houston, Texas — A Houston-area school bus driver faces a review after she allegedly became upset with the children, pulled over, threw the keys to a student and told the children to drive themselves home.
The Baines Middle School students say their bus driver became angry because children were being loud. She stopped the bus in the middle of traffic on a bridge, got up and left.
Fort Bend ISD says the frustrated bus driver got off the bus to call a supervisor to send a replacement driver.
The district is now investigating her actions. but parents say this is not the first time they've had problems with this driver.
Parents say that they have complained in the past about the driver using the "N" word with their children.
The district says they investigated the racial allegations and decided the driver would not be fired, but they say those past complaints will be considered along with the new allegations when deciding what will now happen to the driver.
School officials say the safety of students is the highest priority and appropriate actions will be taken upon completion of the investigation.
