Hawkins resurfacing tests motorists’ patience

Hawkins — Motorists on Hawkins Parkway between Airline Drive and Eastman Road are getting a test in patience this week as four lanes of traffic are squeezed into two while crews resurface the heavily travelled roadway.
The roadwork is scheduled to wrap up by week’s end, but city project manager Alton Bradley emphasized the word “scheduled.”
“It depends on conditions,” he said. “You can’t lay asphalt if it gets cool. You can’t lay asphalt in the rain. And it also subject to how it works out with the asphalt plant.”
