A Harrison County woman and her husband are under investigation after the man was shot in his head.

Dispatchers received a call at around 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, regarding an assault with a weapon that had happened Wednesday evening on at Private Rd. 1228 Lot #256 in Marshall, Texas. The caller, who is a neighbor, stated that the victim, Bonnie Hooper, 79, had been attacked by her husband the previous night and was barricaded in the bedroom of her home.

The witness also claimed Hubert Dean White, 62, was very intoxicated during the previous night and they were arguing. Hooper allegedly crawled through a bedroom window the next morning and contacted the neighbor to call for help, since White was still in the house and she was afraid to leave the bedroom.

When the call to 911 was made, the caller told dispatchers that White had a weapon and told them he was in the living room area of the house.

When deputies arrived, they entered the house and found the White lying on the floor with a bullet wound to his head and a large amount of blood on the floor. He was conscious and further stated he and his wife had been arguing for several days. White was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Deputies are currently question both for further details on the shooting. At this time, officials are unsure who shot White and neither person involved has accused the other of the shooting.
