"Handsome Guy" bandit on his way to jail in MS
Jackson County, MS — KFXK just found out Steven Ray Milam, or the "handsome guy" bandit, the man accused of almost a dozen North Texas bank robberies over the last year, and who police say has Tyler ties is currently being taken from a Jackson County, Mississippi hospital to the county jail.
KFXK spoke with Sheriff Mike Byrd, who says he will be going shortly to pick Milam up.
Sheriff Byrd tells KFXK, he shot out Milam's right rear tire on his red VW Jetta, while traveling northbound on I-10 near Pascagoula, MS, Tuesday morning around 10 a.m., after a 17 mile pursuit, and after three different attempts to stop Milam's vehicle.
Milam faces up to 12 counts of armed bank robbery in the Dallas County area and attempted Capital Murder Charges on a Richardson police officer.
Sheriff Byrd tells KFXK, Milam will also be charged in Mississippi later today (Wednesday) on evading arrest, those charges stemming from Tuesday's pursuit.
According to the Richardson Police Department tells, the U.S. Marshall's Office will be traveling to Mississippi in order to extradite Milam in Dallas County, TX, sometime later this week.
