Gregg Co. hit and run: 4-year-old killed

Tuesday, November 15, 2011 - 9:42am

Gregg County authorities tell FOX 51, this all started with a missing child call at around 6:45 Monday night.

By 8:15, a deputy had found the 4-year-old child's body on the side of the road off of State Highway 149 (Younger Road).

A store clerk told authorities that a man and woman stopped at a gas station with a brand new vehicle and said they were upset because they had just hit a deer and damaged their vehicle.
DPS says if they truly thought they hit a deer, they will not press charges against them.
But they are looking for the vehicle to question the people.

GREGG COUNTY IS LOOKING FOR: A Dark color, possibly silver Nissan truck.  4 door with paper tags (meaning it is most likely a new purchase)  It is driven by a white man in his 30's wearing a blue "oil field" type uniform with patches and name tags.  He was also wearing a brown and white ball cap and had a beard.  A white female was also with him.  She has brown, curly hair.  Authorities tell us the damage to the vehicle will be on the right side near the headlight.
