Gladewater, TX — A 16-year-old Gladewater High School student is in stable condition after being shot in the face this past weekend by another student.

Gladewater Police Chief Farrell Alexander said officers were dispatched to Weldon Bumble Bee Park on South Main Street around 12:20 a.m. Saturday in connection to a report of multiple shots fired in the area.

Alexander said while officers were responding, another caller reported a gunshot wound victim at the Valero Gas Station near the intersection of U.S. 80 and Lee Street.

"The victim was able to say who shot him and give us a little information about what was going on," Alexander said.
