Gilmer man busted shortly after robbing Longview Kroger

A Kroger's robber was arrested shortly after stealing items from a Longview store Friday morning.

Longview police tell KETK Ronald O'Keith Beasly, of Gilmer, is accused of taking two bags of dog food and 6 cases of beer at around 9:41 a.m. Store employees tried to stop the thief, but were shoved to the ground. He then ran from the store and drove away in a truck with the stolen items.

Officer were able to locate Beasly soon after on the 200 block of Mitchell Street. He was charged with robbery and taken to the Gregg County Jail.

No injuries were reported in the robbery.
