Fugitive sex offender arrested in Shreveport

NACOGDOCHES — A man wanted by the Nacogdoches Police Department for more than 4 years for failing to register as a sex offender, was finally caught by the U.S. Marhsal Service in Shreveport.
Police officials tell KETK, 55 year old Charles Ray Rusk was arrested Thursday, April 26th.
Rusk was also wanted by Nacogdoches Police for an aggravated robbery that happened in January 2006 in the parking lot of the Burger King on the 2000 block of North Street.
Rusk allegedly drug an 80 year old woman to the ground while trying to snatch her purse.
He had been previously convicted of the sexual assualt of an 8 year old girl in 1978.
Nacogdoches Police Detectives obtained information that Rusk was living in the Shreveport area, and alerted the federal authorities.
Rusk was arrested, and is being held in the Caddo Parish jail awaiting extradition.
