Friday wildfire update

Yesterday Texas Forest Service responded to 6 fires for 3,957 acres.
Today the Texas Forest Service responded to 1 requests for assistance from local fire departments.
New Fires:
Tom Green & Sterling Counties, Cotton Ranch Fire - Located 22 miles west of Grape Creek; 1,400 acres; Bulldozers and engines responding as well as Air Attack; 2 SEATs ( single engine air tanker); 3 structures threatened.
Fire Previously Reported:
Terrell County, Sanderson - 900 acres; dozers and engines; 2 SEATS ( single engine air tanker) are on scene.
Andrews County, Sand Ranch - 4,610 acres; 95% contained; cause under investigation.
Stonewall County, Swenson Fire - 71,800 acres; active fire behavior. TFS resources on scene: Air Attack; Heavy helicopters; Air Tankers; 5 Task Forces ( Bulldozers and Engines). 2 TIFMAS Strike teams ( Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System). Strike Team includes: Strike Team Leader, 4 Engines and 8 operators.
