Four arrested in Nacogdoches drug raid
Authorities raided an apartment Thursday morning, resulting in the consfication of drugs, weapons and multiple arrestes.
The Nacogdoches County Constable Office Precinct 4 and the Nacogdoches Police Department executed a search warrant early Thursday morning on an apartment located on Old Tyler Road. The search of the apartment has lead to the arrest of four suspects after officers found marijuana, cocaine and weapons inside the residence.
Constable Bridges stated that his office has been working an active case on the investigation for the last month that stemmed from a traffic stop that occurred in precinct four. Bridges stated that the Constable Office was able to determine where the drugs were coming from and able to identify a distributor of the narcotic. Constable Bridges stated that over the course of the last month, Deputy Constables conducted surveillance on the suspects and were able to obtain probable cause for a search warrant on the apartment.
The Nacogdoches Police Department SWAT team assisted with the execution of the search warrant around 5 am Thursday morning. We conducted an analysis of all the information that we had received and believed this search warrant was deemed a high risk. Our office contacted the Police Department and requested the SWAT team to execute the search warrant. Constable Bridges stated that he had prior information that there were several weapons inside the residence along with a large amount of narcotics and possible gang activity.
Constable Bridges stated that during the execution of the search warrant by the SWAT Team, one of the suspects inside the residence jumped out of his bed and ran toward a weapon, but was quickly taken into custody by the SWAT team without incident.
A total of four subjects were taken into custody that was inside the apartment. Constable Bridges stated that over three pounds of marijuana, one gram of cocaine, two pistols, and one sawed off shotgun along with $1,790.00 dollars in currency was seized from the residence. Constable Bridges sated that drug paraphernalia and items used to package and sell narcotics were also found inside the residence.
Courtney Bell 25 years old, Corey Roberts 26 years of age, Jerry Bell 24 years of age and Sharvonte Cannon 19 years of age all from Nacogdoches, Texas were arrested at the scene and transported to the Nacogdoches County Jail. All subjects were charged with possession of Marijuana State Jail felony and Possession of a controlled substance 3rd felony. Cannon was only charged with possession of marijuana.
