A former employee of Pilgrim’s Pride was held Monday in Titus County jail on $500,000 bond, charged with stealing mechanical and electronic equipment valued at $200,000 or more from the poultry plant in Mount Pleasant.

Mount Pleasant Police Chief Wayne Isbell said plant managers reported a series of thefts that led detectives to Rickey Alton Wright, a maintenance employee at the facility. About $40,000 worth of property that may have been sold by the suspect has been recovered, Isbell said.
