Fmr TAMU mascot, Reveille VII, has died

Cadet General Reveille VII, the highest ranking member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets, has died at the age of 12.

Reveille VII was born on October 9, 2000, in Argent Kennel in Fort Lauderdal and is a registered Rough Collie.

She was donated to Texas A&M by Dr. Cindi Bossart, VMD, her husband Jim Efron and breeder Nancy MacDonald.

Reveille first stepped foot on the Texas A&M campus on February 16, 2001 and officially took over duties from Reveille VI at the Corps of Cadets Final Review on May 12, 2001.

On February 13, 2008, it was announced she would retire at the end of the school year at a news conference at the Corps Center.

In the summer of 2008, she began her retirement living with two other dogs under the care of Paul and Tina Gardner in Wellborn, Texas.
