Firefighters extinguish flat bed trailer fire on interstate

TYLER — DPS Officials tell KFXK that they are still on scene directing traffic around the charred trailer on the interstate.


KFXK crews on the scene report: The tires of the flat bed trailer caught fire early Wednesday morning, but firefighters have extinguished the blaze.

One lane of Eastbound traffic is still blocked off at mile marker 578.

No details yet on what sparked the fire.

KFXK will continue to update this story as details come in.


Officials with the Smith County Fire Department tell KFXK that a flat bed trailer has caught fire on Interstate 20, near mile marker 578 around 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

One lane is blocked in the Eastbound direction while officials work the fire.

KFXK has a crew on the scene and will bring more details as they become available.
