MURCHISON - The driver of an SUV was killed Monday morning after colliding with a semi on Highway 31 in Murchison.

Both vehicles were fully engulfed in flames when troopers arrived on scene around 2:45 a.m.

DPS officials say the person driving the SUV lost control of their vehicle, slid across lanes of traffic directly into the path of an oncoming 18-wheeler and died on impact.

The driver of the semi was uninjured.
