Nacogdoches, Texas (FOX 51) — An East Texas woman is now behind bars after hitting her 7-year-old child.
It happened on Monday at 4:00 p.m. when officers with the Nacogdoches Police Department were called to the 800 block of Mockingbird Lane for reports of a child being injured.
On arrival, officers found a 7-year-old girl bleeding from her nose.
Further investigation found that the child had been struck in the nose by her mother.
Fortunately, the child did not require medical treatment. The girl was also released into the custody of Child Protective services and her mother was arrested.
Nacogdoches Police arrested Stacey Smith, 30, for injury to a child and resisting arrest.
