ETX man wanted for aggravated assault, early July shooting arrested
Emory, Texas (FOX51) — A Yantis man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a Grand Saline man on July 3rd.
William Lee Honea, 32, was arrested on Wednesday, July 24th, at a house just outside of Emory in the 3000 block of Rains County Road.
Honea was sought in connection with the shooting of a 24-year-old Grand Saline man on in early July and was wanted on a Van Zandt County warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Just after 2:00 p.m., law-enforcement officials from the Department of Public Safety, Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office, US Marshal’s Service and Rains County Sheriff’s Department went to the location where Honea was suspected of hiding.
Honea was taken into custody without incident along with two others suspected of harboring a fugitive and taken to Rains County jail.
Honea was then transported to Van Zandt County jail where he remains in custody on a $100,000 bond.
