Crockett, Tx — Thanks to anonymous tipster, Houston County deputies were able to burn down a large marijuana growing operation near the Davy Crockett National Forest.
On Wednesday, Houston County narcotics agents were alerted to a pot operation somewhere in the vicinity of the Davy Crockett National Forest on private property.
Authorities say the marijuana was growing between pine tree rows, most of which had already been harvested by the growers.
Texas narcotics agents and sheriff's deputies cut down about 500 plants and gathered about 100 pounds of process marijuana.
The plants and marijuana along with the contents of the make shift camp were burned on site.
Authorities believe the operation was going on for several months.
