Fire officials say the blaze was started by electrical wiring.
The Tyler Fire Department remains on the scene of a two-alarm structure fire in the 6000 block of Sutherland.
The initial call was received at 3:48 p.m. Fire crews reported heavy smoke coming from the second story of the residence. Five engines and one Ladder Company, along with a district chief and an investigator, responded to the scene.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, pending investigation by the Tyler Fire Marshal’s Office.
