The East Texas Wheelchair Games was free for all spectators and participants.
The challenges consisted of races at distances of 50, 100, 200, and 400 meters.
These were followed by field events like club throwing and archery.
Now some of Saturday's athletes do have aspirations for competing in the Paralympics, but today was just about fun.
And from everyone Fox 51 spoke with, they say that just being able to have a day of fun with people who understood the hardships of being in a wheelchair was the best part about today.
And its that fellowship that keeps them coming back year after year
