East Texas leaders react to bin Laden’s death

The death of 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden turns a chapter in American life that began the morning he murdered more than 3,000 people in the World Trade Center Towers nearly a decade ago, local officials said Monday.

“I can remember when the towers went down ... who I was sitting with, nearly 10 years ago,” Gregg County Judge Bill Stoudt said.
