East Texans take a step back in time

This was the second year the Old Mill Museum has put on pioneer day in Lindale, and since it was easter weekend, the easter bunny himself even stopped in.

Event volunteers were dressed in their Texas pioneer and cowboy clothing, teaching visitors about the tools and trades that people used to survive in early texas.

'The Outsiders' from Crossbrand Cowboy Church in Tyler were also on hand, performing their skit 'Wild West Shootout' teaching guests about Christ, and gun safety.

Along with the museums and cultural signifiers, there was also a petting zoo and games for the kids.

But the main attraction for the day was the massive Easter egg hunt, where kids took off across the field, while their parents looked on.

During their first year, organizers tell KFXK that around six hundred people showed up, one year later, over 14-hundred and counting.
