East Texans pray for nation's leaders

EAST TEXAS — It's the 60th National Day of Prayer that takes place on the first Thursday of every May. Many East Texans say at a time when our country is facing so many issues--- prayer is key.

People gathered in Tyler's downtown square to pray for the city's leaders, schools, and churches. Others across the nation came together to lift up our country's leaders.

One East Texan says, "We need to be a nation under God in order to be a nation indivisible like our pledge says. I'm praying right now, Lord, give us clarity of mind. Put wisdom back into the places of leadership."

This year's theme is "A mighty fortress is our God" taken from Psalm 91:2 that says "I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust."
