Early voting more popular this election
TYLER - Media reports show state-wide the number of people voting early this year has nearly doubled compared to mid-term elections in 2006.
The local elections offices show an increase but it's not as dramatic.
In Smith and Gregg counties, the early voting numbers are on track to surpass the last mid-term election numbers by thousands.
East Texans say it's because this one is more important than most mid-term elections.
