Emergency crews responded to a major three-vehicle wreck Monday afternoon at the intersection of Old Omen Road and 5th Street near UT-Tyler.

Around 12:51 p.m., a driver headed westbound on 5th Street fell asleep and veered into another vehicle headed in the same direction. The car then bounced off the vehicle, sideswiped a truck, and rolled, landing on its hood, Tyler Police Public Information Officer Don Martin said.

The driver of the car was identified as Caleb Oliver, age 24 or 25. He was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Authorities have cleared the scene of debris and traffic is flowing normally.
