Over 90% of Dogan Middle School students Turned Tyler Pink yesterday, earning their school the coveted Pink Fire Helmet Trophy. Turn Tyler Pink is an event hosted by Tyler Firefighters CARE to raise awareness of women’s cancer and support those who are fighting cancer.

“Turn Tyler Pink promotes unity amongst our students and staff in support of a greater cause,” Dogan Principal Masud Shamsid-deen said.

“Cancer has had an impact on so many of our lives, and in this small way we say that we will fight this battle together."

In all, over 3,000 Tyler ISD students wore pink in support of those who are fighting cancer. Dogan received their trophy at the Turn Tyler Pink event on the square in Downtown Tyler. The Stewart Middle School Cheerleaders and Robert E. Lee High School Fiddlers also performed during the event.
