SMITH COUNTY - A spokesman with the Smith County Sheriff's Office says deputies are investigating the scene of a burned body found in a truck Monday morning.

The Dixie Fire Department received a call shortly after 5 a.m. that a truck had caught fire on Patton Lane near Highway 31 West. After putting out the blaze, firefighters found a body inside the truck.

Investigators have not yet identified the person or their gender.
